We will be accepting all usable bikes. The bikes will be packed and moved to Boston where they will be shipped to bike distribution projects in developing countries. Help is needed: * Outreach -- Let people know! * Bikes -- Bring any bikes you have to donate. * Mechanical help -- On day of the drive to help evaluate, and "flatten" bikes. * Encouragement -- that this is worth doing! Contact: Tom Sippel, 413-634-0101. ** STREET SMARTS BIKE CLASS ** Don't let the spring slip by without getting places comfortably on your bike! If you'd like to get more confident about using your bike in traffic, come to a 2-hour "Street Smarts" class on Sunday afternoon, April 10th, from 1 - 3pm. Meet at 8 High St, Florence (on the bike path), with your bike. We'll do a basic ABCQuick check of our bikes, do a few handling skills in a parking lot, and then practice navigating traffic in town. Class costs $5 - $20 dollars, sliding scale, or Valley Time Trade hours. Contact Ruthy to sign up. 413-586-8031. ** EARTH DAY BIKE WORKSHOP ** Pedal People will be in Pulaski Park on Saturday, April 23rd from 11 am to 3 pm holding a free informal workshop. If you have questions about fixing flats, understanding gears, bike fit, brake adjustments, suspicious squeaks or creaks, or riding safely in traffic and in cold, we can come up with answers. Bike tools will be available. Can't make April 23rd? We host a similar workshop every Saturday: http://www.pedalpeople.com/index.php?page=17
