Meet your Pedal Person, see how the trailers work and learn more about recycling effectively and reducing trash. This event is completely free of charge and open to the public. We hope to see you there with your friends and family! http://www.pedalpeople.com/index.php?page=76 ** SPOTLIGHTING PARADISE ** Henry White from Northampton Community Television recently featured us in his show Spotlighting Paradise. Check it out! http://www.northamptontv.org/spotlighting-paradise-pedal-people/ ** REUSE RALLY AT SMITH VOCATIONAL SCHOOL SEPT. 15TH ** The Northampton Department of Public Works is sponsoring a reuse event on Saturday September 15 from 9 am to 12 pm for Northampton residents and small businesses, in cooperation with the City’s ReUse Committee, the Salvation Army and Bikes Not Bombs. This "Reuse and Recycling Rally" will be held on the Smith Vocational school campus, rain or shine. One of the goals of the ReUse Committee is to reduce disposal costs for residents and to divert reusable materials from the landfill as much as possible. This event will feature "Take It or Leave It" bulky rigid plastic collection, collection of textiles, clothing and household goods, and a reuse rally for old bicycles. All types and sizes of bikes and parts will be accepted for reuse, unless they are very rusty. Bikes Not Bombs also will accept wheelchairs and plastic containers for sorting parts & shipping overseas like milk crates, kitty litter containers and 5-gallon buckets. To view Bikes Not Bombs full wish list, go to http://bikesnotbombs.org/donate. Bikes Not Bombs requests a $10 per bike donation to defray storage, processing and shipping costs, and can provide a signed, dated receipt for the value of each donated bicycle for tax purposes. For further information, see contact Karen Bouquillon at the Department of Public Works at 587-1059 or kbouquillon@nohodpw.org or see: http://www.northamptonma.gov/dpw/Recycling/reuse/ ** GENERAL DELIVERY SURVEY AND BETA TEST ** Would you like to have Pedal People deliver goods including packages, groceries, furniture, lumber and other items?
