** SPECIAL BIKE LAB APRIL 7TH **

Come get your bike ready for Spring! We will hold a special bike lab
on Saturday, April 7, 2012, 5:30 to 8 pm at the Dynamite Space in the
basement of Thornes Marketplace, 150 Main St, Northampton. The regular
weekly bike lab will also happen the same day: 11 am to 2 pm, at 12
Northern Ave in Northampton.

Anyone wanting to learn more and/or share what they know about basic
bike maintenance and repairs is welcome to stop by these free informal
workshops. If you have questions about fixing flats, understanding
gears, bike fit, brake adjustments, suspicious squeaks or creaks, or
riding safely in traffic and in cold, we can come up with answers. If
you have a bike, bring it. If you need a bike, we might have one you
can fix up for yourself. Bike tools will be available and mechanics
on hand to help get you ready to ride! For more information please

** PEDAL PEOPLE DELIVERS FARM SHARES AND OTHER LOCAL FOOD ITEMS **

This farm season have Pedal People deliver farm fresh produce and
other local goodies to your door! Starting in June we will be
delivering shares of organic produce from Enterprise Farm in Whately.
For more about the shares and delivery details, please see:
http://www.pedalpeople.com/index.php?page=51

We also deliver local produce, meat, cheese, eggs, yogurt, baked
goods, honey, maple syrup and many local value added products from
Valley Green Feast. Valley Green Feast is a worker owned cooperative,
and offers a highly customizable service that brings the farmers
market at your door! What's even better, Valley Green Feast is
offering Pedal People customers a $5 discount on their first order!

service:

** 15% DISCOUNT FOR CUSTOMERS USING "SMART" BAGS **

As many of you know, the City of Northampton now requires that all
trash disposed of at the Locust St. Transfer Center be placed in blue
"SMART" bags. Currently we must re-bag all trash we pick up in
regular trash bags. If Pedal People customers purchase and use their
own SMART bags, we don't have to throw away 2 plastic bags for every
bag of garbage. When the City first made this change we decided to
offer our customers a 10% discount to offset the expense for those who
chose to buy their own SMART bags. In order to save us the waste and
hassle of re-bagging, we have decided to increase the discount offered
to 15%. SMART bags are available in 3 different sizes and can be
purchased at many stores in Northampton.

For more information about the SMART bag system, please see:
http://www.northamptonma.gov/dpw/landfill/

NOTE: Depending on location, some Pedal People customer's trash is
taken to Valley Recycling instead of the Transfer Center. Valley
Recycling does not use the SMART bag system so the above information
may not apply. Please see our website to see if your location
requires we use SMART bags for your trash and to sign up for the
discount: http://www.pedalpeople.com/index.php?page=63

** NEW RECYCLING TOTES AVAILABLE **

Are your recycling totes falling apart? Pedal People can provide you
with new ones free of charge which you can use as long as you are a
customer. It's great for us if our customers have bins in good shape
so recycling stays dry. Let us know if you need new totes and we can
deliver them to you.

** HELP US KEEP COMPOST BINS HAPPY **

Just a reminder - we really appreciate it when our customers line
their compost buckets with paper bags. This keeps your compost bin
cleaner and prevents old compost from building up on the bottom of the
tub - yuck! Make your Pedal Person happy - use a paper bag in your
compost bucket! Thank you.
